MIT OpenCourseWare (MIT OCW) makes the course materials that are used in the teaching of almost all MIT’s undergraduate and graduate subjects available on the Web, free of charge, to any user anywhere in the world. This initiative continues the tradition at MIT, and in American higher education, of open dissemination of educational materials, philosophy, and modes of thought. Through June 1, 2005, MIT OCW has published 1,100 courses.

Get the latest information from MIT OCW around the world and home in Cambridge -- from press releases, to links to worldwide media coverage, to thoughts on this exciting initiative from MIT President Charles M. Vest.

If you are a reporter looking for a contact, please email Jon Paul Potts, MIT OCW Communications Manager, at jpotts@mit.edu, or call him at +1.617.452.3621.

Journalists are also encouraged to register for our monthly email newsletter, “The MIT OpenCourseWare Update.” This newsletter offers subscribers updates on the latest courses added to the site, links to worldwide media coverage of MIT OCW, and helpful tips on how users can maximize their experience using MIT's educational materials.
