本课有两份书面作业。第一份是教学大纲中一本书的一份4－5页的书评。第二份是一份20－25页的编史学论文。关于编史学论文，大家至少要从教学大纲中选择两本书，阅读同一个作者的不同作品，对不同作者的相同主题文章进行对比，并将主要的书籍放置于更广阔的历史背景下来阅读。
