A new CQOCW in English version on CORE website — Agricultur
CQOCW (Chinese Quality OpenCourseWare) Agricultural Microbiology of Northeast Agricultural University, which has been written in English, was published in CORE website recently. As the the head of microbiology discipline and tutor of doctoral students of the university, Professor Xiuhong is responsible for the course. It is a basic course with a long history, including the contents of morphology, physiology, growth, genetics, ecology and circulation of material in nature. Moreover, new technologies and ideas are introduced in the course with the aim of providing basic knowledge and skills for the students in related majors.
Teachers adopt the method of combining theoretical teaching and lab work together for the course, which is helpful to make students master the basic lab skills, cultivate their rigorous scientific attitude and let them have deeper understandings to the concepts and principles of Microbiology. Agricultural Microbiology has compresive course materials in clear structure. Learning the course can lay a soild foundation in Microbiology and make preparations for sudents to further learn other courses and do scientific research.
The project of CQOCW Translation into English sponsored by CORE aims at:
• removing language barriers in the use of OCW by translating and creating CQOCW into globally used English;
• enriching the global repository of OER by translating CQOCW into English and publishing the translated CQOCW online;
• extending the impact of OCW by encouraging the adoption and adaptation of open educational materials in China and around the world.
