CORE Lead Universities
In recognizing the unique culture and educational backgrounds, it becomes clear through extensive discussion, that the most effective avenue to disseminate and utilize open course ware in China is to establish centers of teaching or CORE Lead University programs. This will provide the focus and lead in propelling this program. It also will provide the visibility, immediate acceptance, and catalytic effect, credibility and confidence to the participating universities and to CORE.
A set of conditions is required from these groups:
1. Adequate campus website capacity
2. Utilize an increasing number of OCW in the 5 year program
3. Assist in the translation of course materials.
4. Progress report to CORE and central website
5. Performing a comparative study of the benefits and shortcomings of Chinese course materials ¡¡and international materials
6. Assigning a lead person and staff working on related activities
In return, CORE's Lead Universities will have the following privileges
1. Center for hosting CORE seminars
2. Priority in participating course committees
3. Seeding funding from CORE
4. Priority in supplying CORE course materials
5. To be a member university of international OCW Consortium
