CORE staff and CORE Lead Universities of have made an impressive progress with the support of Hewlett Foundation, IET Foundation, the Ministry of Education and colleges in China, especially with the efforts Lead Universities have made. At the same time, the program of translation and application in Lead Universities has being carried out very well. There are the catalog and corresponding web links of 451 national level quality courses on CORE¡¯s website. The number of MIT courses translated into Chinese has been increasing. Lots of people from home and abroad who pay much attention to sharing of educational resources have joined CORE volunteers and actively applied for translating the courses. Moreover, CORE¡¯s achievements have got much attention from many supportive people interested in commonweal and CORE has constantly received e-mails and calls asking for information. Some of them wanted to know how to be a member of CORE, some to discuss the questions about translation, and some to make some contribution to the commonweal. After having evaluated the translated courses, MIT gave high praise for the work CORE has done. Prof. Farnaz Haghseta from MIT OCW sent an e-mail to CORE office to approve the quality of translation. So far, MIT OCW has linked CORE¡¯s website on their homepage http://ocw.mit.edu and logo of CORE has appeared on MIT OCW¡¯s homepage. CORE, partnered with MIT, has devoted itself to the progress of open education movement of China and the world.
Everyday there are about 5000 individuals visiting CORE¡¯s website. We believe that with the efforts of everyone, more and more people will pay a good deal attention to open education and CORE. |
