GOLDEN, Colo., May 1, 2006-- Western Cooperative for Educational Telecommunications and China Open Resources for Education met in Golden to sign an agreement on collaboration and the sharing of educational resources to improve the overall quality of education. The agreement will offer access to each others resources and enrich both of their programs.
WCET is a premier organization that includes 250 higher education members from 46 states and 8 countries that is addressing the effective use of telecommunications in learning. Dr. Sally Johnstone is the Executive Director of WCET.
CORE consists of over 100 university members with over 5 million students and is funded by the Hewlett Foundation and the IET Foundation. It utilizes Open Course Ware from MIT and other universities to enhance the quality of education in China and to share Chinese courseware worldwide.
