Colorado School of Mines and CORE agree to international cooperation

GOLDEN, Colo., May 1, 2006¡ªThe Colorado School of Mines (CSM) and China Open Resources for Education (CORE) have agreed to share educational resources. Dr. John Trefny, President of CSM, participated in discussions to expand the use of Open Course Ware and increase the interaction between the two organizations. Dr. Fun-Den Wang, Chairman and President of CORE, stated that this collaboration will strengthen and complement each others academic programs.
CSM is a world-renowned university specializing in energy, minerals, materials and environmental education and research.
CORE consists of over 100 university members with over 5 million students and is funded by the Hewlett Foundation and the IET Foundation. It utilizes Open Course Ware from MIT and other universities to enhance the quality of education in China and to share Chinese quality courseware worldwide.
