Opening Speech by Dr.Fun-Den Wang at the Third Open Education Conference 2006-09-06 Ladies and Gentlemen, Good morning! On behalf of CORE and IET Foundation, I’m honored to give my warm welcomes and great respects to Minister Zhang, distinguished guests and friends from home and abroad. I appreciate the dedication of the Office of Academic Affairs and the related departments of Xi’an Jiaotong University to organize the conference as well as the services provided by CORE staff. Traditional education has brought us a variety of distinctive culture and quality life while the new technology today brings us distance education and open education. Both of them are in line with traditional education and with which form a unity. Open Education is the utmost form of expressing love and humanity in providing high-quality education and life as well as bringing social equality for all. I hope we could further our steps towards this common goal through this conference, and make greater accomplishments. I wish this conference a great success and wish you all a happy staying here!
