CORE Volunteer Members Initiative

A. Objective
In order to recognize what the volunteers have done who have participated in the translation and proofreading of OpenCourseWare, to make the work related to the volunteers more effective and efficient, as well as to encourage more students and people from various fields who would dedicate themselves to the cause of open sharing of educational resources, meanwhile we can benefit from their expertise and translation, we are going to start CORE Volunteer Members Initiative.

B. Description of the Members
Every volunteer who has participated in translation and proofreading will become a volunteer member of CORE. They can be divided into three levels as followed:
¡°Gold Members¡±: Translated two or more full courses;
¡°Silver Members¡±: Translated one full course;
¡°Bronze Members¡±: Translated articles or chapters of a course or proofread some courses;

C. Rights of the Members
The members can learn the courses provided by CORE;
The members may attend meetings and seminars organized by CORE;
Each member will be recognized by a pin and a certificate ( according to the level of the volunteers );
Gold Members may be awarded with a cultural tour within the city they live in;
Ten ¡°CORE¡¯s Best Volunteer of the Year Prize¡± will be available for volunteers each year;
CORE¡¯s Best Volunteers of the Year can attend CORE¡¯s annual conference.

D. Obligation of the Members
To translate courses, articles and other useful information either from English to Chinese or from Chinese to English.

Note: CORE will update the items above annually as needed.
