Meeting of Dr. Fun-Den Wang, CORE, and Dr. Louis Fox, WCET |

To continue CORE/WCET relationship, Dr. Fun-Den Wang, Chairman of CORE and Dr. Louis Fox, new Executive Director of WCET, met on June 13, 2007 in U.S. to explore new ways of cooperation.
Dr. Louis Fox, founder of the National Internet2 K20 Initiative and a well-known researcher and advocate in the field of technology and education, comes to WCET from the University of Washington.
To further the agreement on international cooperation in May 2006, CORE and WCET agreeed to develop closer ties in 2007. There were three initial areas which were covered during the meeting:
1. Increase interaction between CORE and WCET through participating in each others conferences and exchange visitation
2. CORE and WCET can explore ways in which they can cooperate to facilitate a language (Chinese & English) exchange between Chinese and U.S. member universities.
3. Explore areas in which course content can be shared mutually.
Founded in 1989, WCET - the Western Cooperative for Educational Telecommunications - is a membership-supported organization open to providers and users of educational technologies. Its mission is to promote and advance the effective use of technology in higher education. WCET actualizes this mission through the cooperative efforts of its member network. |
