Ą°Open Education Conference 2008Ą±, co-organized by Dalian University of Technology (DUT, www.dlut.edu.cn), OpenCourseWare Consortium (OCWC, www.ocwconsortium.org) and China Open Resources for Education (CORE, www.core.org.cn), was held in Dalian, China on April, 24-26, 2008.
Dr. Catherine Casserly, Director of the Open Educational Resources Initiative of Hewlett Foundation, Dr. Cecilia dĄŻOliveira, Director of MIT OCW, Dr. Louis Fox, President of WCET and over 200 representatives from 110 universities and educational institutions from US, UK, Spain, Japan, Korea, Netherlands, Mexico, Vietnam, Nigeria, Russia, Turkey, and China attended the conference.
At the conference, 39 representatives from universities and educational institutions from US, UK, Spain, Japan, Korea, Netherlands, Mexico, Vietnam and China delivered presentations with special focus on Open Educational Resources---Development, Application, Collaboration, and Sustainability. At OCWC Board Meeting during the conference, Dr. Fun-Den Wang, CORE Chairman was elected OCWC board member.
Succeeding Open Education Conference in Shanghai in 2004 and in XiĄŻan in 2006, Open Education Conference 2008 is the third one held in China, sharing the research and practice outcomes, and vision of Open Education. |
